Phyllis George, Former Miss America and sports caster passed away at 70 from complications related to polycythemia vera

Phyllis George, a former Miss America and sportscaster, is dead at 70. We at MPN Research Foundation extend our deepest condolences to Phyllis George’s family. We were shocked to hear of her death due to complications related to polycythemia vera (PV). She led an inspirational life as a sport journalist at a time when very few women were in the profession. Her trailblazing is inspirational and we will honor her memory by continuing to do all we can to raise funds for research into the underlying causes and therapeutic breakthroughs into PV and all the MPNs.

If you are someone who is living with PV or any of the MPNs or simply wish to learn more about Polycythemia Vera or the latest in MPN research you can navigate our website for the latest news and resources.
