TAMOXIFEN POSSIBLE TREATMENT FOR MYELOPROLIFERATIVE NEOPLASMS

    Researchers at the National Center for Cardiovascular Research (CNIC) in Spain found that estrogens play a role in regulating the active of blood stem cells from bone marrow. Simon Mendez-Ferrer, Jürg Schwaller and Radek Skoda published a paper in Cell which demonstrated that tamoxifen – an approved breast cancer drug – was effective in blocking the symptoms and progression of myeloproliferative neoplasms.
