HIKEMF 2018 RAISES $35,000 FOR MPN RESEARCH FOUNDATION!

  • MPNRF | June 7, 2018

HikeMF, an annual fundraising event organized by Julie Rittenburg Libon and Lori Rittenburg Small, took place at Borderland State Park in North Easton, MA this past Saturday, June 2nd. Over 130 people came out to participate in the 3-milehike, and this year all proceeds benefit the MPN Research Foundation’s Challenge Grants program. The event raised an incredible $35,000 for MPN research!

“It’s so inspiring to see communities come together like this in support of MPN research. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful location,” said Ellen Bouleanu, MPNRF’s Associate Director of Major Gifts, who attended the event. “Julie and Lori think of everything – the t-shirts, goodie bags, sunscreen station, plenty of water and food – they make it so easy for everyone to enjoy the hike!” The event also included a raffle and silent auction featuring some great items donated by friends and local businesses.

The MPN Research Foundation is grateful to Julie, Lori and their team of volunteers who made this event possible. Since this event began back in 2015, HikeMF has raised over $135,000 for MPN research, and plans for next year’s hike are already underway. In the search for new treatments and a cure for MPN patients this kind of support goes a long way. We hope to see more people join our community of supporters who are determined to change the prognosis for people living with MPNs.
